Cashier station

Our cashier station requirements are for the safety and integrity of:

  • gaming equipment
  • patrons
  • all staff.

Operations and installation of gaming equipment

The cashier station must be built so that the gaming equipment inside it can't be accessed by the public.

Cashier stations must:

  • be constantly monitored by CCTV
  • have cabling that is securely fixed
  • not store any equipment or belongings on, or near, it
  • not let ancillary equipment be accessible to the public (e.g. coin dispensers, coin weighing scales)
  • ensure gaming equipment is accessible to our inspectors
  • ensure the Site Controller (in the cashier station) is adequately secured and not accessible to the public
  • have an operational and accessible duress alarm installed for staff to trigger in the event of an emergency
  • ensure other equipment is not connected to the gaming equipment distribution board (e.g. coin dispensers)
  • ensure coin dispensers and coin weighing scales clearly display the dollar value to the customer
  • not display gaming machine advertising if the cashier station is situated outside the gaming machine area.
