FOI requests and procedures
FOI statement and arrangements
Under the FOI Act, members of the public have the right, subject to certain exemptions, to request information and access documents about their personal affairs and activities of the VGCCC.
A freedom of information request needs to be made in writing to the agency that holds the documents being requested. Once the request is received, the Freedom of Information Officer of the VGCCC will process it in line with the FOI Act.
To lodge a FOI request for documents held by another agency, or for further information about how to make a request, please visit the FOI resources for agencies – Office of the Victorian Information Commissioner webpage.
How to make an FOI request to the VGCCC?
- To request access to documents held by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission, you can submit a FOI request by contacting VGCCC using the details below or by lodging a request through the Victorian Government FOI online portal.
- When making an FOI request, you will need to provide sufficient detail in writing to enable the document(s) you are seeking to be identified.
- You must also pay an application fee of $33.60. If the payment of the application fee would cause you hardship, you will need to provide evidence to VGCCC to request a waiver of this fee. This fee increases annually on 1 July.
- You may authorise someone else to make a request on your behalf. To do so, you must provide them with written authorisation that includes your signature and the date.
- Once the request is received, the Freedom of Information Officer delegate within the Legal, Policy and Compliance Division will process your request in line with the FOI Act.
- Current statutory processing timeframes are 30 days, plus any extensions that may be required.
- If consultation with one or more third parties is required, the timeframe to process an FOI request is automatically extended by 15 days.
