Strategy 2029 sets the VGCCC's direction for the next 3 years, building on the foundations established since our inception, providing clarity about our priorities, the direction we are taking and commitments we must deliver.
It sets out how we will deliver on our purpose: to regulate Victoria’s gambling industry to uphold integrity, safety and fairness for all.
What integrity, safety and fairness mean in practice:
Integrity: Gambling is free from criminal influence, fraud, money laundering and other serious misconduct. Only suitable and trustworthy operators participate, and gambling is conducted honestly and lawfully.
Safety: Gambling harm is minimised. People are protected from practices and environments that increase the risk of gambling harm, such as unsafe products, harmful gambling environments, and inadequate consumer protections.
Fairness: Gambling is conducted transparently and according to the rules. People can have confidence that gambling products and systems operate as intended, and that gambling results can be trusted.
Our strategy focuses on 4 outcomes:
• Focus on where gambling harm happens
• Identify risk and act early
• Hold industry to account for its legal obligations and social licence to operate
• Embed a connected, capable and empowered VGCCC team.
