Our Selection Process
We are committed to recruiting and selecting the best talent based on the principle of merit. Our recruitment and selection processes are based on the inherent and work-related requirements of the position and selection decisions are free from bias and unlawful discrimination.
Each role advertisement will outline what you need to submit as part of your application. This may include a tailored cover letter and resume, or responses to targeted questions. The Position Description will be included and provides an overview of the role, along with the skills, experience and qualifications we are seeking.
A selection panel will assess applications against the essential requirements of the role to determine which candidates progress to the interview stage.
During the interview, you will be asked questions that focus on the key capabilities required for the role. You will be asked to share specific examples from your past experience to demonstrate your knowledge and skills. The STAR method is encouraged to structure your responses.
As part of the selection process, you will be asked to provide details of 2 referees, including your current or most recent manager, who can provide detail in respect of your skills and experience.
Pre‑employment checks form an important part of our recruitment process.
Appointments are subject to:
a nationally coordinated criminal records check
verification of working rights and qualifications
misconduct screening
declaration of any actual or potential conflicts of interest.
To be eligible for employment, applicants must have the right to work in Australia. Ongoing roles require successful applicants to demonstrate ongoing working rights, while fixed‑term roles require a valid visa that permits work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
We are committed to providing equal access to our job opportunities. If you require an adjustment to participate in our recruitment process, we encourage you to get in touch with the contact person listed in the job advertisement as early as possible so we can discuss your needs.
Adjustments may include, but are not limited to:
Providing information and materials in accessible formats.
Ensuring appropriate building access for face‑to‑face interviews.
Supplying interview questions in advance.
Allowing additional time to complete assessments.
We are committed to fair, transparent and merit-based recruitment processes. When applying for a role with us, you must provide information that accurately reflects your skills, knowledge, experience and capabilities.
You may choose to use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support the preparation of your application. However, you are responsible for ensuring all information submitted is truthful, accurate and reflects your own experiences, knowledge, capabilities and achievements.
