YourPlay outage and EGMs

YourPlay is an important initiative to help people manage their gambling. It’s a legal requirement that all Electronic Gaming Machines (EGMs) in operation must be connected to the YourPlay system.

If you identify that EGMs are not connected to YourPlay, you must ensure the machines are not available for use.

When there is a known scheduled outage of YourPlay that will impact the whole network, venues will be notified by the VGCCC in advance whether EGMs will be permitted to operate during the outage.

In the event of an unplanned network outage, you must contact Intralot Gaming Services (Intralot) or the VGCCC to seek confirmation of the outage. This will assist you in determining if your EGMs can continue to operate. Where the whole network is experiencing an outage, EGMs will ordinarily be permitted to operate.

Venues are expected to have processes in place to check and ensure their EGMs are operating with YourPlay. Venues can undertake practical steps to ensure EGMs are connected:

  • visually inspect EGMs on a regular basis and check YourPlay is connected to each
  • regularly check that the YourPlay player information equipment, such as the kiosk and card encoder are functioning correctly
  • run the Intralot YourPlay EGM connectivity report and address any issues immediately
  • use a manager test card (with PIN) to test EGMs and the card reader on a regular basis.

Materials are available to help ensure that YourPlay is functioning correctly in your venue and include a guidance sheet, YourPlay daily checklist and YourPlay information for venue operators and staff.

If you become aware that EGMs are not offering YourPlay, and you continue to operate the EGM, you run the risk of us taking enforcement action.
