Clubs that receive poker machine revenue must lodge an audited Community Benefit Statement (CBS) with the VGCCC by 30 September 2025.
This deadline cannot be extended. Clubs that miss the deadline will be taxed at the higher pub venue rate until their audited CBS is lodged. The VGCCC may also take disciplinary action against them for non-compliance.
A CBS must illustrate how gaming proceeds contribute to local communities. The Ministerial Order provides details of what can be claimed as a community benefit and the amounts that apply.
The VGCCC will only accept a CBS if it has been audited to ensure the validity and accuracy of the benefits claimed.
The VGCCC conducts targeted audits of gaming venue CBS submissions each year to review their accuracy and validity. Venues that have been selected for a review will be contacted directly by the VGCCC.
If you are unsure of which benefits to claim in your CBS please email contact@vgccc.vic.gov.au or call 1300 599 759 for assistance.
