Following the government’s automatic approval to extend trading hours for every pub and licensed venue to broadcast the FIFA World Cup 2026 match featuring Australia versus Egypt scheduled for 4 am, Saturday 4 July, Victorian licenced venues may also extend gaming room hours until 4 am.
If your venue currently utilises the Intralot Gaming Services (Intralot) automatic disabling function and wishes to extend your EGM operating hours to 4 am tomorrow morning, please call the Intralot Help Desk on 1300 764 495. Intralot will initiate a process to allow for a one-off adjustment to the disabling time of your venue’s electronic gaming machines (EGMs) to 4 am tomorrow morning. You will not be required to adjust the nominated gaming hours in the Intralot BOS portal for this day, noting the blanket extension to liquor licences for venues broadcasting the World Cup game between Australia and Egypt.
Intralot will also have an after-hours service desk available to assist with any issues that your venue may experience.
Please note that the mandatory closure period prohibiting the play of EGMs from 4 am to 10 am is still in effect for all hotels and clubs across Victoria. If a venue operator is non-compliant during this time, VGCCC will apply a zero-tolerance approach to any such non-compliance where detected.
Please visit the Victorian Liquor Control website to find out more about temporary liquor licences. If you have a question relating to gaming hours, please contact VGCCC via email contact@vgccc.vic.gov.au or call 1300 599 759 from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays.
