The VGCCC has identified several bookmakers who failed to comply with betting account closure obligations as required under the National Consumer Protection Framework (NCPF) for Online Wagering.
The Framework requires an account closure process to be prominently displayed and clearly explained on all bookmaker websites. A telephone number must also be provided for customers to call when requesting account closure.
You can review the NCPF measures on the VGCCC website and the Australian Government Department of Social Services website. Bookmakers must ensure that they meet the requirements for each measure.
The VGCCC, in collaboration with other regulators, monitors and enforces compliance with the NCPF. If you notice any non-compliance with any of the measures under the NCPF, please alert us via our complaints or tip-off page.
