Attention gaming venues: new COI forms in use

Are you completing the updated Certificate of Installation form when installing any gaming or monitoring equipment in your venue?

The Certificate of Installation — or COI form — has been updated to include sections for the installation of Ticket-In-Ticket-Out (TITO) and Card Based Cashless (CBC) equipment, and redesigned to be easier to fill out on any device and printed if necessary.

We have advised technical service providers, MAX and Aristocrat, to use the updated COI form instead of any previous versions.

As a reminder, licence holders at an approved gaming venue must:

1. use the updated COI form to certify that the gaming equipment or monitoring equipment is functioning in the way it is designed and programmed to, and
2. retain the certificate for 12 months after the date of signature.

These are requirements under sections 3.5.16 and 3.8A.7 of the Gambling Regulation Act 2003.

Venue operators (or entitlement holders or their delegates) who complete part B of the COI form must ensure:

1. they are using the correct COI form
2. gaming equipment is functioning in the way it is designed and programmed to
3. the technician who carried out the installation holds a gaming industry employee (GIE) licence, and
4. the original COI document is retained by the venue operator and is available for us to inspect at any time.

Note there is still a requirement to forward the signed COI form to Intralot before switching on any installed gaming machines.
